T2 Utility Engineers (T2ue) completed a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) mapping investigation in accordance with CI/ASCE 38-02, for the Emerald Park Development Project on Yonge Street in North York (Toronto). The developer requested the SUE investigation in order to determine the precise location of buried subsurface utilities to facilitate in the build of a new condominium development. T2ue’s investigation involved record request circulation, SUE mapping, CCTV sewer inspections, invert investigations and test holes.
The SUE investigation for this unique project in a busy urban core, provided key information regarding the location of the existing underground utilities to be used during the design of the project. A combination of data from the field investigations and utility record information was used to create the composite utility drawings. The drawings show the utilities at the given quality levels as outlined in the CI/ASCE Standard 38-02.
The investigation focused on determining the utility infrastructure that would be impacted by the design and construction, and as such the highest quality level of information was provided in those key areas, as requested by the Emerald Park Development project team.
The data shown on the drawing provided the designers adequate information to move forward with the design.
